“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Have you always been afraid to do some new things? Do you have this fear that something bad will happen if you take a step or the result will not be good? Have you allowed fear to rule over you?
Did you know it’s a direct command from God to us that we should be courageous?
It’s not a form of advice but a command because it is necessary for you to be strong if you want to go far in life. Joshua 1:9a. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage.”
The word of God promised us the best even in times of trouble. As a human, there are some situations we find ourselves in that we can’t even face. God told us not to panic, but instead, we should be courageous.
We need to focus on Jesus for courage. After Joshua became the leader of Israel, he was sure afraid to face and stand in the position. God told him not to be afraid, he focused on God for encouragement.
Your strength may fail you and feel like you can’t go further. But seek encouragement from God. Joshua was not sure if he could lead the Israelites but God kept on telling him to lead hem, he was encouraging Joshua and he didn’t fail. God has never given you a spirit of fear but of sound mind, he has given you a spirit that is strong that will make you face all situations and overcome them.
Be Greatly Blessed!
Jesus is the source of your courage. You don’t know what the day will bring so you need Jesus to face it. As a worker or a student, you need Jesus – you must not go a day without Jesus.
Tell Jesus this morning to give you courage, to make situations bow before you. Joshua led the whole of Israelites, you can lead a nation too by the power of Jesus Christ.
Lord, I thank you for another beautiful day like this. I thank you because your love is an unending love. Thank you for seeing me through the night, even though there might be the terror that moves in the night but still you protected me.
I know I have made some mistakes, if I say I am not a sinner then I am a liar and there is no truth in me. Lord please forgive my mistakes and help me also to forgive others and teach me the way to love.
God as I enter into my workplace or my school, give me the courage to face whatever that may come my way. Let your presence go with me. I know my strength cannot take me farther but I’m relying on you for today, please grace my efforts and encourage me to do my best.
